Site of The Old Man With The Old Guitars
2. Is It "Original" & does it matter? 3. Scalloped versus Straight Braces? |

I keep the site up to answer questions players frequently ask. Not many guitars left in this old mans closet. Just a handfull of favorites. If you see something that interests you drop me an e-mail at: dettenheim @bellsouth.net I no longer keep pictures updated and posted as I am not anxious to sell the guitars I have left. Still I list all the guitars I still own and will certainly sell all but one acoustic and one electric. I've got a good bit of recording and audio gear left in my old studio as well as some keyboards. I still have several old bowlback mandolins but nothing very expensive.in the mandolin group. |

Present yourself as a supportive musician rather than a performer. Why? Consider the competition. You'll be judged accordingly.

What's the best deal on a guitar? One that leaves you playing and enjoying it more than before! Age does not make a guitar valuable or collectable. Repairs do not ruin them! If it suits you, buy it. If not, don't! If you've bought it and it still doesn't suit you.. sell it and buy another till you find one that does! Life is too short to be stuck with a sorry guitar! |
| Have patience! Half my time is spent messing with this web site. The other half is spent playing guitars, writing songs and jammin' away! Life is good at 76 provided you don't get in a hurry! |
